...On the Occasional Victory...

Remember the Real I.D. act featured in "America: Freedom to Fascism"? It required DMVs nationwide to connect their system, providing information on your personal life to any cop or any DMV worker wherever you go in the Nation. It also linked your Identification (Driver's Licence) to a new National I.D. card that would be needed to enter any federal building, ride a train or bus, cross state borders or generally do anything, really. It was to implement a "commonly readable technology", namely the RFID technology, which is also being put in people's skin theses days.

Anyhow, news from the underground: The Real I.D. act is dead in the water. For all of you planning to raise children in another country, or flee before it's too late to escape the empire...well, you just got a little bit more time. Read on here:

...On Justice...

House Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers has said that if three more Congress Members get behind impeachment he will start the impeachment proceedings. Just three more. Justice rarely shows it's face this close, and even rarer, allows itself to be captured.

Oregon's representatives haven't said much about the idea of Impeachment; While Wyden has said he has an "open mind" if the process could be started, DeFazio has said that it probably won't happen. This news shows us differently. None of the other representatives, to my knowledge, have released anything else. The least we can do is take Cheney and, hopefully, Bush to court to face their crimes.

So, to you, my friends who may come upon this letter, here is a list of our representatives and how to contact them, just in case you find how we are governed to be more important than picking your nose. Yes, I know, it's hard for me too.

If you're feeling exceptionally lethargic today, but still want to make a move, you can cut and paste the following paragraphs (below) that I have prepared and send it to your representative (Washington & Clatsop County residents should email David Wu, Tillamook County residents should email Darlene Hooley). Dear Congressmember,

I recently read an article about House Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers, where it was revealed that if "three more Congress Members get behind impeachment he will start the impeachment proceedings." As a concerned citizen and a registered voter, I am bringing to you, my State Representative, my voice on this issue.

Many Congressmen have stated that there aren't enough votes, or that the proceedings would be impossible to reach, but now we know otherwise. I believe that it is a clear case of criminal acts, and that the impeachment of Richard B. Cheney and George W. Bush is not only a progressive course of action, but also our responsibility as humans and citizens of the United States of America. Actions ranging from outright lies to torture, and countless unconstitutional acts in-between, videotape evidence and numerous victims and witnesses: this is not how we, the people, would like to be portrayed.

Please, I urge you, support House Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers and push for impeachment proceedings, be it through H Res 333 or simply public statement. Thank you for your time.
